Tralee is the biggest town in County Kerry and is its administrative centre. It is a busy market and shopping town and is also a centre of industry, education, entertainment and tourism.
The population of Tralee is about 22,000.

This town is built at the mouth of the River Lee in County Kerry Ireland. It is centrally placed in the county, making it a good location for visitors to Kerry as it is within reach of all the places of interest.  This town has been in existence since the 13th century at least, although the medieval town was burnt down in Elizabethan times.

What’s in Tralee?

Tralee is most famous nowadays for its Rose Festival which takes palace each August. Based on a beauty pageant where the Rose is crowned, the festival which lasts over a week has numerous other events including music, theatre and street entertainment.
Tralee town centre has lots of shops, pubs restaurants and cafes as well as a good town park.
There are two RC Churches, a Church of Ireland, a mosque and other places of worship.

Tralee Things To Do

Sport features highly in the activities here. There are six GAA Clubs, soccer clubs, rugby, athletics, tennis, golf, rowing, basketball, sailing and swimming clubs. The Kingdom Greyhound Stadium is one of the leading tracks in the country.
Tralee International Marathon is now becoming one of the countries foremost athletics events.
The Aquadome is a fantastic indoor water sport leisure facility and Tralee Wetlands has a wildlife viewing tower, a lake and a restaurant.
The town has a wide variety of shops, hotels, cafes,restaurants and pubs.
Siamsa Tíre is a 350 seat theatre which hosts Ireland’s National Folk Theatre productions during the summer months and plays, musicals an operas from various theatre groups during the winter.
Other interesting attractions include the Kerry County Museum with a depiction of life in medieval Geraldine Tralee and the Town Park with its famous Rose Garden.
