Killarney, County Kerry
The Ring of Kerry Cycle 2018, starts and finishes in Killarney.
Cyclists do th 112 miles (175 Km) around the Iveragh Peninsula passing through Killorglin, Glenbeigh, Caherciveen Waterville, Caherdaniel, Castlecove, Sneem, Kenmare and back to Killarney.
Along the route they will see some of Ireland’s most spectacular scenery and encounter some fairly tough climbs, especially at Coomakista after leaving Waterville and at Moll’s Gap between Kenmare and Killarney.
This is the 35th year of The Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle. It has raised over €15 million for charity and there are thousands of participants, mainly leisure cyclists and the event is manned by thousands of volunteers.
It starts officially at 7.30 am but many cyclists start earlier. It is not a race so start and finish times don’t matter much.
