Along the route they will encounter fantastic scenery and will have to endure pretty tough climbs, especially at Coomakista at the far side of Waterville and at Moll’s Gap between Kenmare and Killarney.
This is the 36th year of The Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle. It has raised about €20 million for charity and there are expected to be about 8000 participants, mainly leisure cyclists and the event is manned by thousands of volunteers.
It starts officially at 7.30 am but many cyclists start earlier. It is not a race so start and finish times don’t matter much.
Road Closures: Please note that there are significant road closures in Killarney and all along the route at various timed during the day.
