Castleisland is a town with a population of about 2,500 about 10 miles east of Tralee on the road to Limerick. It is a busy market town with a wide main street which plays host to an annual horse fair which is held on the 1st of November.

What’s in Castleisland?

This is a busy shopping town and it also has a number of industries including one of the country’s biggest printing businesses.
Cragg Cave, just outside the town is a popular visitor attraction with guided tours of this spectacular lighted underground cave.
Castleisland County Kerry has a big GAA Club (Desmonds), an 18 hole golf course, a rugby club a soccer club and the leading Athletics Track (An Ríocht) in the county.
The Ivy Leaf Theatre, located in the former Church of Ireland is the popular venue for week-long The Amateur Drama Festival as well as other performances throughout the year.
