Caherdaniel is a village on the southern side of the Iveragh Peninsula between Waterville and Sneem. All around there are many beaches including some in sheltered coves. It is an ideal place for water sports and swimming. The surrounding landscape is rugged and stunning.

Derrynane Beach, which is nearby is a long sandy beach and is a great spot for swimming and other watersports.
This Blue Flag beach has a lifeguard service during the Summer months.
There are numerous walking routes in the area with lots of opportunities to explore remote hidden valleys.
Derrynane National Park and Derrynane House which was the birthplace of Daniel O’Connell, ‘The Liberator’ who was instrumental in achieving Catholic Emancipation. The house ids now a museum open to the public.
There is a stone fort nearby, Cathair Dómhnaill, from which the village gets its name.
